Playa del Carmen: Hotel Lunata: "Outstanding hotel!"

Our family of four stayed at Hotel Lunata the last two nights of our Mexican vacation. We had been on the road for the past 10 days visiting Tulum and Xcalak, so were looking for a place to wind down. The hotel is beautiful, and I saw at least eight people wandering through the lobby and trying to get information on the hotel -- the way it's decorated really draws people in. I wanted to do some last minute shopping so it was a perfect spot. My husband and I had dinner together at a fantastic Italian rooftop place (Ula Gua?!). The hotel also has a wonderful garden, and don't miss the rooftop, which looks over Ave. 5 and you can get a glimpse of the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Absolutely Fabulous
June 26, 2003 : A TripAdvisor Member, Boston, MA II just returned from a 2-week trip to Mexico, and the Hotel Lunata was my favorite stay. It was beautifully decorated, conveniently located, and had very friendly staff. The rooms were immaculate and had central air conditioning. It's located on 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen - in the heart of things, but the rooms facing the interior garden are quiet. I couldn't recommend it enough!

The Best Service in Playa del Carmen
June 1, 2004 : A TripAdvisor Member, Houston, Texas My daughter got married in Playa on the 29th of May.
Part of my family and my husband and I stayed in the Hotel Lunata for six nights. (5 rooms) The hotel is absolutely wonderful and the staff does everything possible to make your stay in Playa perfect. The hotel is small (10 rooms) but the rooms are large and are beautifully decorated. Tonya, Fabiola, and Melissa helped us plan tours and answered our many questions. They became our friends. The hotel is immaculate, the air conditioning works great and the location is perfect (on Avenida 5) just one block from the beach. When I go back to Playa, I will definitely stay there again.

The most charming place I´ve ever stayed!

Wow, what an incredible hotel! There is nothing ordinary here. There are only 10 rooms in the hotel, so the staff is very attentive & helpful. The complimentary bikes were a boon to weary feet & great for jetting around town. The graden is like a little tropical oasis in the middle of the city. The room was large & nicely appointed, complete with a fridge. Some friends stayed at a 5-star with beachfront, and while having a private beach right there would be nice, I was much more impressed with the Lunata. Plus, the Lunata offers coupons for one of the private beach clubs down the road. The Lunata´s location is great -- right in the thick of things but quiet & secluded once inside. But I have to say it´s probably at least a 6 minute walk from the bus station.
